R.S. Lesson: March 25, 2018

Sister Jasperson from the Stake R.S. Presidency taught the lesson last Sunday.

We separated into seven groups and talked about D&C 11:10. Here are the groups, and some of what we found significant about our part of this verse. I hope my notes make sense!
1. Behold thou hast a gift:  We all have individual gifts that will expand as we share and develop them.
2. or:  Sometimes we're doing great, and sometimes we're not, but it's always important to keep an eternal perspective.
3. thou shalt have a gift:  Try to have patience when we want something.  It's a promise. "Thou shalt have."
4. if:  Conditional clause in parent-child relationship between us and Heavenly Father
5. thou wilt desire of me:  We need to ask and also desire. Deep want with the realization that it requires an action to use the gift when we get it.
6. in faith, with:  Are we "in faith?" We're here. Sometimes we have to do hard things. Always remember the "old reliables": scripture study, prayer, and attending church. These things have tremendous power to help us keep our faith strong.
7. an honest heart:  Heavenly Father knows our hearts and will help us with direction if we're willing to listen.
Sister Jasperson shared a thought from Elder Pimentel's Stake Conference talk:

"In order to become, we need to
do and say as the Savior has."

She said the "wow" feeling isn't enough anymore. We need to DO and SAY. We come to learn. We should have a notebook in our hands. That's part of doing. She keeps sticky notes in her notebook so she can use them to add tabs for emphasis and further learning/clarification.

She challenged all of us to bring a notebook/journal every Sunday.

Discussion Suggestion:  Do any of the seven sections resonate particularly strongly with you? If so, please share with us in the comments!
